Personal Health Information (PHI) or Personal Identifiable Information (PII) must be protected as stated in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), a 1996 Federal law that restricts access to individuals' private medical information. Data transfer is to never happen via email, and PCS is providing a HIPPA approved file sharing service, provided by Citrix.
